Deceptive devices of the Lady Slipper Orchid

A sensory depiction of the Lady Slipper Orchid which utilises spots as nectar guides and colour, shape, scent and traps as devices to ensure pollination through mimicry. Examined from outside and inside; the microscopic viewpoint highlights the intricate patterns of pollen within the flower’s dissected pouch trap. Medium: collaged gauche hand-painted textures. 49cm x 94cm
