Spinal Totem Pole of Bone Healing Plants
Plants, identified for their bone healing properties, are intertwined and fused with vertebrae to form a flowering spinal column. Visual comparisons are made between the plants and vertebrae; they are reduced to simplified geometric shapes and patterns, examined from different perspectives, inside and outside, through cross-sections and microscopic viewpoints; considering their medicinal, healing properties and therapeutic nature. Medium: collaged gauche hand-painted textures. 31cm x 117cm
